Sun Chemical North America, including Canada, implemented energy/material surcharges on inks effective July 14, 2008. A 10 cent per pound surcharge was applied to news inks, directory inks, coldset, heatset, publication gravure, solvent packaging and energy curing inks. Water packaging inks were subjected to a 6 cent per pound surcharge.
